March 5 - BYP Monthly Luncheon
Featured Topic: Boise Watershed Project
Speaker: featuring the Donna-Marie Hayes, Boise WaterShed Project
Each month BYP will host a luncheon designed to connect its members and provide opportunities to learn about upcoming events and happenings in the Boise area. These events are a great way to meet other local young professionals, have a great meal, and learn about what’s happening with BYP!
Donna-Marie Hayes is a Boise City Public Works Commissioner, with 35 years of community service and board experience. She is the founding president and acting executive director of Boise WaterShed Exhibits, Inc. and currently serves on the Saint Alphonsus Foundation and the Sawtooth Society; is past board member of Boise Junior League, Boise Art Museum and FUNDSY; and founding board member of Child Abuse Law Mentors (CALM).
The Boise WaterShed project is a partnership between the government and the people to save our water. Boise City is building the $2.5 million teaching facility (now under construction and scheduled to open in May 2008) and BWE has raised $865,000 for the interactive exhibits. Designed by CH2M Hill, the exhibits are amazing, sort of a blend of Discovery Center, Game Boy and the nationally touring Gross-ology exhibits. The facility also features a resource Library for adults and teachers wanting all manner of water information.
