BYP commissioned a survey update to gauge how well our organization is meeting our mission two years later, along with identifying perceptions about our community.  The 2010 survey was completed by 220 young professionals, of which 65 percent were BYP members. Respondents were well-educated (82 percent had at least a four-year degree), mobile (66 percent did not have children) and civic-minded (95 percent are registered voters; 73 percent voted in the previous election).

b|heard Toastmasters Club meets every Monday from 5:45 -7pm in the Chamber’s Large Conference room.

This is a great opportunity to volunteer with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival!  Volunteers will act as ushers, assist with clean up and perform various duties as needed.  Participants will also have the opportunity to watch the show, “The Woman in Black”.

“The Gang” is a group of eight high performing, highly creative organizations based in Boise.  They range from the Boise State Football program to Healthwise, the Ada County Sheriff’s Office and ProClarity/Microsoft, as well as The Gang members lounging with you.  The leaders and members of these creative and successful organizations hold an annual Gang Meeting and the leaders meet periodically during the year to discuss “messy problems” they face. 

They solve problems by mixing ideas from across fields, disciplines and industries to learn from each other and discover new solutions.  Their overall goal: to help Boise build an economy that thrives on creativity and innovation.  Napier’s two most recent books, sold around the world, highlight these organizations as key case studies.

Come join your fellow YPs for the 4th annual tour of local wineries on Saturday, August 14th. We’ll meet in the Boise Metro Chamber’s parking lot (250 S. 5th St.) in downtown Boise at 9:30am and board a bus at 10am. There is limited parking in the Chamber lot (available from 9am – 7pm), please carpool or park on the street.

Please stay tuned for the wineries we will be visiting.  Lunch will be provided. Please bring water and drink responsibly! The bus will be back in Boise around 5:30pm. Reef is reserved for after the tour if people would like to go eat.
