Community & Civic Involvement

For the Love of Politics – Showcases how and why local elected officials and political junkies got involved in politics. Encourages involvement and engagement from young professionals in local and state issues that impact their lives. This event is free to members and $15 for non-members.

“Unplugged” Forum – The “Unplugged” Forum is designed to encourage a discussion with the Boise Mayor and/or other elected officials. This event is offered at no cost to BYP members and allows local YPs a chance to hear from and ask questions to the local elected officials. The elected official is asked to open with a 15-20 minute address to the YPs of the region and then opens the event for 45 minutes of Q & A. This is the largest open question and answer forum in the region and has attracted between 150-200 YPs at each event.

Community service projects – The Community & Civic Involvement Work Team meets monthly to determine volunteer service projects in the Boise region. Past events have included: BYP Halloween Bash, Rake Up Boise, Day of Service, Ironman, and several others.
