BYP is a growing organization mainly comprised of the 21-40 year old population, but is open to any “young thinking” or “young-at-heart” professional. If you live in the Boise Valley and are looking to make a difference in the community, make life-long business and social connections or develop your career skills, then you’ve come to the right place.
What are our members saying?
“I joined BYP when I moved to Boise as a way to meet people with similar goals and interests. Not only have I made new friends and business contacts, I’ve met the mayor, held Kristin Armstrong’s gold medal, and gotten plugged in to my new community. The monthly luncheons feature panel discussions on a variety of topics that often spark spirited discussion afterward. BYP offers countless ways to get involved—everything from volunteering at a 5K to fully launching a start-up. Yes, BYP is about connecting young professionals from a business standpoint but moreover it’s about engagement in the community, getting to know your peer group and enjoying the Treasure Valley.” –Emily Koleno | Associated Insurance Services
“As a marketing professional in an engineering firm, I initially joined BYP as a way to meet people in my industry and promote opportunities for other young professionals in my office. However, BYP quickly became much more than that. Boise Young Professionals has not only afforded me the opportunity to connect and develop lasting relationships with other successful, driven professionals, but has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. BYP is an organization unlike others, encouraging members to not just be leaders in the workplace, but, importantly, in their communities as well. From the Lunch and Learn to the b|connected events, I have truly enjoyed all the organization has to offer. Regardless if you are new to the area, or have lived in the Treasure Valley your entire life, I highly recommend you give BYP a chance as an opportunity to get engaged in your community and see your city through new eyes.” –Eva Fithen, Marketing Coordinator | T-O Engineers
“I joined Boise Young Professionals to become more involved in events happening in the community. Through BYP I have been able to participate in discussions with the mayor and other prominent political figures, mingle with other young professionals at after hours events, and attended discussion panels on topics of personal health, education, community service and many more. I’ve chosen to take part in the Events and Networking Committee where I have been able to help plan and attend b|connected events, luncheons, and annual Gala event. BYP has helped me benefit by meeting and connecting with new people who have similar interests and aspirations to not sit on the couch, but to get out and be involved in the city and in knowing more people around them. I would recommend others take the time to come to the informational lunch and see if it is a good fit for them.”

“Boise Young Professionals has created several great opportunities for me personally and professionally. Because of BYP I have been able to connect with some of the most influential young professionals in the valley and exchanged knowledge and ideas with them. BYP has empowered me to be a more prominent and engaging professional and I have benefited by being a part of this unique program.” – Melissa Schug | Idaho Independent Bank
“The b|wise program is such a unique opportunity for learning. I have participated in 2, and in each one gained so much from the experience. Specifically, my understanding of myself and my strengths has really helped me evaluate my opportunities to make sure I’m doing what I do best. In each of my groups, I have found new friendships that have and will continue long after the program has ended. Thank you Boise Young Professionals!”
